About
Mission
In theatres, schools, workplaces, homes, books and in inboxes around the world; at events and conferences; on televisions, on iphones, and through monthly newsletters, our mission is to deal the wonder drug of gratitude wherever we can.
Why gratitude?
Gratitude is a game changer, a life changer and one of the quickest and easiest ways to change negative entrenched thinking. I should know!
I was entrenched up to my neck in sad, bad, depressed, angry, critical, judgemental thinking when I happened upon the practice of gratitude. As Willy Nelson says:
“When I started counting my blessings my whole life turned around.”
I was shocked that something this simple could be that effective …. and I wanted to find out why.
So began a research journey and I travelled to the lands of psychology, spirituality, and into the new science around the changeability of the brain (neuroplasticity). I also visited the mountains of research being done into gratitude and happiness. What a trip.. it has been eye opening, inspiring and revealing. Boy, do I wish I had known all this years and years ago.
Wanting to have known about gratitude earlier in our lives was the motivation behind my husband and I starting Goodness Gracious Me!
What we do
In 2010 we started work on a documentary looking at the science behind gratitude and have since interviewed many world leaders in gratitude research, happiness, psychology and brain science.
The film is still in production and we have gradually added additional ways to inspire and equip others in the practice of gratitude. These include a popular Gratitude Adventures Email Program (just what I wish I had had when I started), fun public Gratitude LIfe Classes and a Workplace Gratitude Workshop. We also send out a monthly Gratitude Goodies newsletter chock full of great stuff .
You can find out more about why we think gratitude is a wonder drug here.
